  • Systems: EPIC and Dolbey (preferred for healthcare coding jobs)\n
\n\nMedical Coder Qualifications\n

  • At least 1 year of recent experience in Emergency Department (ED) or Urgent Care medical coding\n
  • Proficiency in hospital coding, including injections/infusions and E&M facility charging\n
  • Experience with EPIC and/or Dolbey systems preferred\n
  • Pediatric (PEDS) coding experience highly preferred\n
  • Ability to maintain a consistent 40-hour workweek schedule\n
  • Strong attention to detail and productivity (12 charts per hour, mix of ED and Urgent Care)\n
  • Must pass a medical coding test (CPT, ICD-10, Charging) with a score of 80% or higher\n
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to seek clarification as needed\n
\n\nMedical Coding Responsibilities\n

  • Accurately code Emergency Department and Urgent Care records, including hospital coding and E&M facility charging\n
  • Verify services rendered in the ED and apply correct calculation order (e.g., infusion, fracture manipulation)\n
  • Utilize EPIC and Dolbey systems for medical coding and documentation\n
  • Meet productivity standards of 12 charts per hour\n
  • Participate in onboarding and ongoing training, including meetings with the Quality Review Team and video resources\n
  • Stay current with FCC updates and changes in healthcare coding practices\n
  • Collaborate with the QA team and other medical coders to ensure accuracy and compliance\n
