Field Superintendent – Underground Utilities (Water, Storm, Sewer)

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $130,000-$155,000

About the Role

We’re looking for a Field Superintendent with 5–10+ years of hands-on experience leading multiple crews in the field. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership role — making decisions, solving problems, and holding teams accountable to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and supervise multiple field crews on underground utility and concrete projects.
• Drive daily production to meet project schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, engineers, and inspectors on public and commercial projects.
• Ensure strict compliance with TxDOT, City, and utility standards .
• Enforce safety protocols and maintain a culture of accountability on every site.
• Conduct site inspections, solve problems in real time, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Track and report project progress using Office Suite and field software (Heavy Job, etc.) .
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew leaders and foremen.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–10+ years of hands-on experience in underground utilities/heavy civil construction.
• Proven success leading multiple field crews on complex projects.
• Experience with City of Austin, TxDOT, and NBU specifications and processes.
• Strong decision-making skills and ability to manage high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills — must lead from the front.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and field reporting tools.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites.
