Description Position Summary This position involves operating the asphalt plant efficiently and effectively to maximize production while maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
Responsibilities - Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
- Operator loader to receive incoming raw materials and maintains inventory levels and stockpiles
- Assists plant management in ordering materials needed for plant operation
- Operates plant equipment to regulate the flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins
- Performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance in order to keep the plant running
- Assists plant management with record keeping and daily production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance
- Performs a variety of tasks assisting with the operation of the plant, including using hand tools, cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
- Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
- Perform well in a "TEAM" environment
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
- Willing to work hours that are associated with the asphalt industry, including overtime and weekends as needed
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills
- Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
Minimum Education and Experience - 1-3 years of experience operating heavy equipment. Experience in the asphalt industry preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $34.01+. Membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union No, 9 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
