Join our team as an Ortho-Spine Nurse Practitioner. In the Ortho-Spine NP role you will:

• Assume responsibility and accountability for rapid assessment, nursing diagnosis and works with MD partners to assure safe patient diagnostic testing and optimal plan of care.
• Perform advanced practice procedures.
• Utilize the nursing process to promote/restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.
• Assume personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.
• M-F 7:00am-4:00pm work schedule but may require schedule flexibility
• Help build the Ortho-Spine Center of Excellence.

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• 1 year of experience in a clinical or advance practice setting, preferred
• Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
• Masters Degree in Nursing as Nurse Practitioner, from a nationally accredited postgraduate certificate program required. Must be a graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Graduate from an Accredited School Of Nursing required
• Registered Nurse Practitioner Licensure for; and listed on the state Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Registry required. Board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, in applicable population foci and/or sub-specialty.
• RN License required
• BLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
• ACLS from the American Heart Association may be required depending on practice setting
• Have Prescriptive Authority (RXN) or have Provisional Prescriptive Authority (RXN-P), if applicable for role with associated articulated plan.

Physical Requirements -Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St Francis Hospital - Interquest. St. Francis Hospital opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs community on the north side of the city. St. Francis Hospital features 340-beds and offers a modern Birth Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Acute Inpatient Rehab, Surgical Services and Critical Care Unit. It also serves as southern Colorados home base for the Flight For Life Colorado air medical transport service.
