Medical Assistant / Clinical Support Coordinator (MA/CSC)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CT OR 10:00 AM–7:00 PM CT

Position Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant / Clinical Support Coordinator (MA/CSC) to join our team. This role involves reviewing medical documentation, collaborating with providers and patients, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Training/Education in a medical-related field such as:
    • Medical Assistant, LPN, Health Information Technology (HIT), EMT, Medic, Corpsman
    • OR completion of Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Human Body Systems, and Common Diseases
    • Equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or applicable military experience considered
  • MA Certification highly preferred (attach certificate during interview)
  • Knowledge of healthcare documentation, including medical, behavioral, and psychological terminology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong telephone etiquette
  • Working knowledge of technical writing
  • Ability to identify lab results and ancillary services
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word)
  • Ability to interpret medical documentation
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Ability to work full-time schedule (MTWRF)
  • Home office requirements: distraction-free space, high-speed internet (cable/fiber), and child/dependent care arrangements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams
  • Home Health or Hospice care experience
  • Military experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigate proprietary EMR system to evaluate and process patient health information
  • Review examination documentation, test results, and assessments
  • Conduct phone interviews with Service Members and Veterans to ensure accuracy
  • Collaborate with providers and patients to meet regulatory and contractual requirements
  • Identify emergent behavioral health issues and initiate intervention when necessary
  • Document test results and complete system-generated tasks
  • Educate and support providers and patients regarding medical history for disability claims
  • Interface via phone (approx. 50%) and email to retrieve required information
