Job Description & RequirementsOne of our Partner hospitals located in eastern South Carolina, is seeking a full-time locum Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) beginning January 2026 . This role offers a steady weekday schedule, optional call coverage, and the opportunity to practice autonomously in a CRNA-only model (no anesthesiologist on site).
\n\nThe ideal candidate is comfortable managing general, orthopedic, endoscopy, and obstetric cases , and preferably skilled in performing epidurals . Orientation is mandatory and must be completed in-person on a weekday prior to the first scheduled shift.
\n\n\n Assignment Highlights \n\nAssignment Dates: January – March 2026 (initial 3-month term; possible extension)
\n\t\n\tSchedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (4×10-hour schedule may be considered)
\n\t\n\tCall: Negotiable (from home; optional based on provider preference)
\n\t\n\tCase Mix: Ortho, endoscopy, general surgery, OB; epidurals preferred
\n\t\n\tDaily Volume: Approximately 10–15 surgical cases per day
\n\t\n\tStaffing Model: 2–3 CRNAs on site; surgeon supervision; no anesthesiologist on site
\n\t\n\tEMR: Standard McLeod system (not Epic)
\n\t\n\tOrientation: Required ½-day on-site session (Mon–Fri only; cannot be completed on weekends or holidays)
\n\t\n\tPay Ranking: Top 10–15% for South Carolina CRNA locum assignments based on 2025 national market data
\n\t\n\tHPA Healthcare: Joint Commission–certified agency
\n\t\nProvide anesthesia for general, orthopedic, endoscopy, and obstetric cases.
\n\t\n\tConduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and manage anesthesia throughout the perioperative period.
\n\t\n\tPlace and manage labor epidurals (preferred but not required).
\n\t\n\tSafely manage airways, monitor vital signs, and ensure smooth emergence and recovery.
\n\t\n\tCollaborate with surgeons and perioperative staff in a CRNA-only model.
\n\t\n\tParticipate in call coverage if agreed upon (home call; limited callback frequency).
\n\t\n\tMaintain accurate, compliant documentation per McLeod Health and HPA Healthcare policy.
\n\t\nActive South Carolina APRN/CRNA license (required at name clear)
\n\t\n\tNBCRNA certification (required)
\n\t\n\tBLS and ACLS certifications (required)
\n\t\n\tMinimum 1 year of independent CRNA experience (rural or CRNA-only environment preferred)
\n\t\n\tComfortable with OB and epidurals (preferred)
\n\t\n\tClean background and NPDB self-query within 30 days required
