S&ME is seeking an Environmental Engineer or Geologist who enjoys both the technical challenge of solving complex environmental problems and the client-facing side of developing relationships and winning work. Our Greensboro office is growing, and we are looking for a leader who can manage projects, provide technical oversight, mentor staff, and drive business opportunities in the local market.

What You Will Do:

As an Environmental Engineer or Geologist , you'll be at the forefront of projects that shape safer, cleaner communities-balancing hands-on fieldwork with impactful office-based analysis.
  • Field Leadership - Take charge of soil and groundwater sampling, oversee drilling operations, and guide monitoring well installations to ensure accurate, high-quality data collection.
  • Data & Reporting - Transform environmental data into clear insights by preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation that drive informed decisions.
  • Project Collaboration - Partner with colleagues to plan and execute site investigations and remediation efforts, maintaining strict quality standards and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Client Engagement - Build strong relationships by communicating findings and project updates effectively to clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Proposal & Scheduling - Contribute to winning new work by drafting proposals, while keeping projects on track through schedule management and deadline monitoring.
  • Financial Insight - Support business growth by evaluating project budgets and assisting with strategic business development initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of professional environmental engineering or geology experience
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license required
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strong project management and leadership skills
    • Excellent business development abilities, and existing client relationships in the local market are preferred
